Improving Aircraft Maintenance with AI
To streamline aircraft maintenance processes, we developed a mobile application that leverages AI to provide real-time solutions for common aircraft issues. This project, a collaboration with Honeywell and an external AI vendor, aimed to empower aircraft maintainers by providing quick and accurate troubleshooting assistance directly in the field.

How it Works
By feeding the AI engine with a vast dataset of maintenance manuals and repair tickets, the application can intelligently analyze maintenance queries. When a maintainer enters an issue, the app delivers tailored solutions, including the manufacturer's recommended approach and additional suggestions based on successful past repairs. Each solution is accompanied by a confidence rating, helping maintainers make informed decisions.

Implementation
I led the design and development of the mobile application, working with a small team of one full-time developer and a software engineering intern.

Outcome
I traveled to Seoul, South Korea, to showcase the application to Asiana Airlines. The goal was to secure a partnership to transition the proof-of-concept, trained on their data, into a fully-fledged product. Asiana expressed interest in continuing the proof-of-concept development and collaborating with our team. Once a customer was committed, a larger team was assigned to the project.
